Scholarships for veteran students

The New York-based Fund for Veterans’ Education announced it would award up to $1 million in undergraduate scholarships for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan starting in the spring 2008 term. The awards, which may be renewed for following academic year, are intended to cover financial need not met by need-based grants and military education benefits. The Horatio Alger Scholarship Fund for Veterans who have served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom beginning September 11, 2001 or later.  www.horatioalger.com
